Chat BubblesJoin me on Monday (4/7) for a live hoops chat: 9am - 11am PST and 1pm - 3pm PST.

Have questions about who to start for the upcoming week? Trying to decide which player to pick up?

I just setup a chat room and will answer questions for the upcoming week. It’s do or die for fantasy teams right now, so hopefully I can be of some assistance.

What’s the deal with Zach Randolph? Can I count on him in a weekly league?

  2. Evil E says:

No, I definitely wouldn’t want to rely on Randolph right now, which is why I didn’t have him ranked very high.

It looks like the Knicks are going to see what their young guys can do, which makes sense. Crawford and D. Lee are the only safe starts right now for NY. Wilson Chandler is a decent pickup, but don’t be surprised if he throws up some stinkers. Malik Rose scored 20 points in his last game, but you’re crazy if you even think about picking him up!

Expect similar answers in the chat room. If you can’t make it for the scheduled chat time, or if the chat room doesn’t work for some reason, feel free to post questions here.

Hi Evil. Been a long time fan of your site. Truely one of the best resources around.

Question for all….How do you see Bosh’s season rounding out? I needed quick help in FG%/Boards/Blks so I traded to get him for Iggy. I am already 100 steals ahead.

    Mark

  4. Evil E says:

    Hey thanks Mark.

Bosh is the man and he should finish out STRONG. I like the trade!

  5. Evil E says:

Thanks to everyone who jumped in the chat room. Should I try to do that again next Monday?

  6. Causeway says:

Thanks E! Please have this again next week. Thanks.

  7. Evil E says:

Alright Causeway, let’s do it again! This week’s chat will be Monday afternoon from 11am - 1pm PST.

And in case you’re wondering, my #1 pickup right now is Travis Outlaw. He’s become Portland’s go-to scorer with Brandon Roy out and is going to finish the season STRONG. If he’s available in your league, pick T Outlaw up NOW!

  8. Jason H says:

Evil E, thanks to your rankings, I am winning my league, you are the man!

Question, I am in a 3 keeper auction league ($100 cap), and I can’t decide which one of these 4 not to resign next year!

    M. Ellis ($4) next year
    R. Gay ($3) next year
    A. Bogut ($3) next year
    D. Howard ($14) next year.

Obviously, Ellis, Gay, and Bogut are AWESOME VALUES that I got for practically NOTHING last year. Keep these three, and I almost have a full bankroll at next year’s auction.

However, I got Howard pretty cheap too, and he IS the man. Can I honestly let him go??

  9. Evil E says:

Great to hear you’re winning Jason. An auction keeper league? Sweet! You’ll have to post some of the rules in my rules post. I’m curious if your league has a limit to the # of years you can keep a player and if their salaries increase over time…

I think you should let the Man-Beast go for several reasons…

1- Like you said, Monta, Gay, and Bogut are SUPER values
2- The Bucks should be better next year (more assists for Bogut?)
3- Everyone loves Superman (he’ll go for a lot more next year but may not live up to his price. By letting him go you’re allowing another owner to use up a lot of his salary cap).
4-Isn’t your FT% pretty poor with both Bogut & Man-Beast?

I would use the extra cash to go after a center with a stellar FT%. Amare is incredible obviously, Yao might be a bargain next year due to his injuries, people won’t expect Kaman to repeat, and Okur is still in his prime to name a few.

Great job on getting those guys at bargain basement prices!

  10. Jason H says:

Evil- Yes, we can only keep any player 3 years and they go up $2 (I think) each year. You are right, I am the WORST FT shooting team in the league, but the other categories make up for it I guess, like boards and blocks.

I am with you, I was thinking of letting the man beast go as well, really easy since he only had 4 points tonight off 1-8 shooting!

What is funny is I JUST joined this league this year, all other owners have been there about 10 years.

I was “told” it would take me about 2-3 years to get a “feel” for the league.

I guess we showed them! :-)

  11. Evil E says:

 That’s sweet man. Joining an established keeper league and dominating from the start sends them a message. And getting Rudy Gay for just $3 is ridiculous!

This is it folks. Just a week and a half left. There are no games on Monday, so I’m going to schedule 2 live chats!

    9am - 11am PST and 1pm - 3pm PST.

If you can’t make it, feel free to post questions here. Time to finish STRONG!

  12. Evil E says:

A few guys I just picked up and plan on starting this week:

    James Posey - for threes
Leon Powe - for FG%, boards
    Amir Johnson - for blocks
also starting Jason Maxiell - for boards, blocks
also recommend Rodney Stuckey - for steals, assists, FT%

  13. Michael Procton says:

Ricky Davis hasn’t performed great since everybody else decent on the Heat went down, but is Raja Bell a better option for my championship week?

  14. Van Huynh says:

I love your site, great reads. I’m playing in the playoffs and got 2nd seed but lost to a hot team but ended up 3rd. Anyways I’m in a keeper’s league get to keep 3 players wondering who I should keep for next season, 4 players considering are STAT, Gasol, Gay, and Granger. STAT is an easy choice, but the other 3 seems kind of even to me, I like Gasol cause he’s a C eligible with good %’s but doesn’t give great stats like he used too, Gay has no ceiling for his potential and Granger been the best statistically this year out of the 3, who you think I should be keeping.

  15. Evil E says:

Thanks man. That’s a tough decision!

My gut reaction is to keep Gay & Granger, cuz they’re both clearly on the rise. Who knows what Gasol’s numbers will look like when Bynum comes back next year? However, as you said, Gasol is center eligible. If you keep Amare AND Gasol, you’re severely limiting the amount of center talent available to everyone else. That being said, you should place your team 1st, and I think that means keeping the young guns…
